Easter Sunday School 2011

This is what got me busy during spring break.. I think I had more thing to do in spring break than in normal days. We prepared a special day for kids at Sunday School in celebration Jesus is risen! We wanted to stay away from egg hunting because it just gives them confusion what Easter is all about. We did like an ordinary game day but we just decorated the place :D... During game days we review all the lesson we reviewed the whole month and play games related to that :D... We played Easter relay, and the tissue rolls for the linen they used to wrap Jesus' body when he died.. We were planning to do a golf type for empty tomb but we ran out of time. And I gotta admit, we still have a lot of things to learn in timing and scheduling our day.

1. Me and my class :D In the silly bandz station
2. Danny lost in Jerusalem?!
3. Marcy in the summary station
4. Hannah Mandy and Aretzi
5. Kylie got mummified! Good job Ruby and Veronica!

Picnic and Banksy

I love this day :D... Just hanging out with the little ones without my sunday school teacher image was really fun. I really wish they will open up more to me. I was never close or open to my teachers when I was there age, that is something I always wanted to experience that's why I'm giving it my all now for them :D

This Banksy photo was months ago.. My brother said I should take a photo with it because it's something big. I know his big but I'm not really a fan. But I still am gonna post it because they said it was taken down days after Banksy did it. Someone bought it and try to auction it I guess to a very high price.

Fall Fun Night 09

Very fun and tiring day :D... We didn't have the time to take pictures when they opened the doors to the public, I'm sure my other churchmates was able to take some few. I told them to send it to me but I'm not putting my hopes that high.

Comparing it to last year, everything went smoothly.. We start setting up around 11:30 am then we finished everything at 4:00 pm. and we got 2 hours break to prepare for the real event. 9pm clean up time.. but me, patty and nick are still face painting. kekeke.. and got home around 11pm something.. I didn't even get the chance to take pictures of all the booths.. (next time)

The greatest thing about this event is that we were able to share God's love and basically turning things around for kids during Halloween. And even though we weren't able to each kids that came through the door we know that seeds our planted and we just gotta pray for them..

I was so blessed to see kids accept Jesus as their savior. before I used to doubt if kids can really accept Jesus in their hearts truly... but only God knows our heart. God made his word simple for us everyone to understand it =)

Magic Mountain '09

sooo fun!.. and tiring!.. and a lot of walking and falling in line.
If you compare our old group picture from the new ones you'll see that we're gettin bigger ^_^ and I'm loving it! Josie and Anna prepared lunch for us.. they decided to have a picnic rather than buying food inside where you eat less but you pay more.

And finally I was able to try "Tatsu".. and I didn't like it.. at all! I'd rather ride "Goliath" and "X2".. But I didn't ride "X2" this time.. I join the other group who wants less scary rides.. and less line. kekekek!

I'm so lovin all the Youth activities this summer!

Youth Shut-In

Calvary Chapel Los Feliz hosted an overnight last Friday @ their place.
It's also a small church also like us so we kinda easily bonded with everybody. Sometimes I feel like I'm not youth anymore when we have events like this because In every picture.. I look old and.. I don't know... Big? hahah! It's always been like that.

I really had fun and all. The games were hilarious.. drip drip drop is my favorite (see my previous post) and the pass the spoon/ eat baby food game. And I was moved by Gonzalo's testimony about his gang life and really just proves that everything in this world is falling away that everlasting life is only with Jesus.. and the contentment, satisfaction can only be found in Him and the things of the world is only for a season.

And finally! finally! I was able to watch Facing the Giants.. but I didn't get teary like everybody else said to me. maybe because it was too noisy and I can't concentrate.. but I like the concept of the movie.. but I think Fireproof is more moving for me even though don't have a partner in life.. kekeke.. someday ...haha!

Drip Drip Drop!

Image and video hosting by TinyPic

We played this game last Saturday during our sleepover. I thought this game would suck and be pointless but it's a really fun game.. whoever invented it is Jjang! Perfect for the summer ^_^...

So how does the game works?.. It's totally like duck duck goose but the difference is you use a cup that has a tiny hole than putting your hands on top of the duck to create the "drip" and then you drop it to whoever you want to be the next it. But when the duck catches the goose he has the opportunity to drop one cup on the goose in the middle as the consequence. which sadly happened to me.. I didn't thought that I would get wet that much.. My two buddies betrayed me! T_T I didn't expect to get picked by Noble because.... I'm like her big sister?!.. haha.. That's why I don't trust nobody..

What Is a Harvest?

For more than 19 years, Harvest Crusades has put on large-scale evangelistic outreaches around the United States and in Canada, Australia, and New Zealand. More than 3.5 million people have attended a Harvest Crusades event in person, and more than 275,000 people have registered decisions of faith in Jesus Christ.

Harvest Crusades events are designed to be opportunities for Christians to invite unsaved family members, coworkers, friends, and acquaintances to hear the life-changing message of the gospel in an environment that is entertaining, yet nonthreatening.

The cornerstone of each event is the presentation of the gospel by Pastor Greg Laurie. Biblically-sound and culturally relevant, Pastor Greg brings a clear gospel message, providing an opportunity for people to make a decision to accept Jesus Christ as Lord and Savior.

Harvest Crusades events feature some of the top names in contemporary Christian music. Artists who have appeared at Harvest events include MercyMe, Jeremy Camp, Third Day, tobyMac, Leeland, Jars of Clay, Todd Agnew, Crystal Lewis, P.O.D., newsboys, David Crowder Band, Switchfoot, Delirious, and Kutless.

Underneath of your In-n-Out

I wasn't aware that in-n-out have the same strategy of sharing the word as forever 21. and I just think it's a cool idea to share the word.

BIBLE REFERENCE: In-N-Out prints discreet references to Bible verses on their paper utensils. The print is small and out of the way, and only contains the book, chapter and verse numbers, not the actual text of the passages. The practice began in the 1980s during Rich Snyder's presidency,[28] a reflection of the beliefs held by the Snyder family.

    * Burger and cheeseburger wrappers
Revelation 3:20—"Behold, I stand at the door, and knock: if any man hear My voice, and open the door, I will come in to him, and will sup with him, and he with Me."[29]

    * Beverage cups and antenna toppers
John 3:16—"For God so loved the world, that he gave his only begotten Son, that whosoever believeth in him should not perish, but have everlasting life."[30]

    * Milkshake cups
Proverbs 3:5—"Trust in the LORD with all thine heart; and lean not unto thine own understanding."[31]

    * Double-Double wrapper
Nahum 1:7—"The LORD is good, a strong hold in the day of trouble; and he knoweth them that trust in him."[32]

    * Paper water cups, or "R-9's"
John 14:6—"Jesus saith unto him, I am the way, the truth, and the life: no man cometh unto the Father, but by me."[33]

FIREPROOF(5 Stars)

Category:Movies
Genre: Kids & Family

Finally got the chance to watch it. I won't be out of place na, hahah! It's really a great movie. It's a story that we can really see in real life. I am not in a relationship and definitely not married but somehow I know that a bad situation can happen in marriage. Divorce is never the answer when marriage fails, you have to work things out as one. Marriage is not contract when you recite the vows in front of God, it's a covenant. I like that. :D

SYNOPSIS: A heroic fireman locked in a failing marriage accepts his father's challenge to take part in a 40-day experiment designed to teach both husband and wife the true meaning of commitment in this faith-based marriage drama starring Kirk Cameron and Erin Bethea. When he's battling blazes, Capt. Caleb Holt (Cameron) adheres to the old firefighter's adage about never leaving your partner behind; back at home, it's an altogether different story. Caleb and his wife Catherine (Bethea) have been married for seven years, but lately arguments over career, housework, finances, and outside interests have driven the once-happy couple hopelessly apart. Just as Caleb and Catherine prepare to officially dissolve their marriage, Caleb's father John (Harris Malcolm) presents his son with a most unusual challenge: commit to a 40-day experiment called "The Love Dare," and take one last shot at saving his marriage. While at first Caleb agrees to take a chance on "The Love Dare," the discovery that it's closely tied in with his parent's newfound faith causes him to momentarily reconsider. Still, Caleb carries on with the experiment despite being constantly rejected by his skeptical, embittered wife. When Caleb asks his father how he can be expected to love someone who refuses to give him a fair chance, John tells his son that this is precisely the same love that God shows for humankind. Now, with a little help from above, the man who makes headlines for saving lives will fight to be a hero to the one person who matters most -- his wife. ~ Jason Buchanan, All Movie Guide

How much of your heart will be left for your wife?

(I stumble on crosseyedblog.com and read one of their blogs.. hehe. anyway, The author quote something from the book I kissed dating goodbye by Josh Harris that hit hard on me, well of course it's a guy POV but it's still the same with us young ladies.)

“It was finally here—Anna’s wedding day, the day she had dreamed about and planned for months. The small, picturesque church was crowded with friends and family. Sunlight poured through the stained-glass windows, and the gentle music of a stringed quartet filled the air. Anna walked down the aisle toward David. Joy surged within her. This was the moment for which she had waited so long. He gently took her hand, and they turned toward the altar.

But as the minister began to lead Anna and David through their vows, the unthinkable happened. A girl stood up in the middle of the congregation, walked quietly to the altar, and took David’s other hand. Another girl approached and stood next to the first, followed by another. Soon, a chain of six girls stood by him as he repeated his vows to Anna.

Anna felt her lip beginning to quiver as tears welled up in her eyes. “Is this some kind of joke?” she whispered to David.

“I’m…I’m sorry, Anna,” he said, staring at the floor.

“Who are these girls, David? What is going on?” she gasped.

“They’re girls from my past,” he answered sadly. “Anna, they don’t mean anything to me now… but I’ve given part of my heart to each of them.”

“I thought your heart was mine,” she said.

“It is, it is,” he pleaded. “Everything that’s left is yours.”

Love: Epistles of John

Photobucket

(EDITED)
Love is described in different ways, but there’s only one true love. And it’s not the love everybody expected it to be. I’m just so amazed how really God’s word is so different from others. It’s unique and opposite from what the world teaches us.
In a relationship you have to have respect for your partner, you need to know true things and specific things about the person you have relationship with. You have to do what your partner wants or the other way around, you have to do all those things or else your relationship will not work. Love is not just a word we spell but it also involves requirement in order to keep the fire burning how others say it. Same with our relationship with God but the only difference is that no matter what we do He still loves us even if we walk away from Him, but the same as the relationship for others when the relationship is not being taken care of, it fades away. Not because God is not powerful but because we choose to.
In John’s letter love is one of the topics that he focused on. We can see in his letter that he talks about our love for others, our love for God individually and God’s love.

LOVE FOR OTHERS
We are called to love another. Actually loving others is just the ripple effect when we love God first. It’s a requirement as a Christian but it’s not something we can fake. God knows everything and He knows are heart more than we do. We cannot love God and hate others, our love for others shows that we love God.
1 John 4:20-21 “If someone says, “I love God,” and hates his brother, he is a liar; for he who does not love his brother whom he has seen, how can he love God whom he has not seen? And this commandment we have from Him: that he who loves God must love his brother also.” I believe that we are all created in His own image and we ought to respect others no matter what their circumstances are. We respect them out of our love for God.

How do we show our love to others if they disagree with what we believe in? We don’t need to change their belief or to agree with their false belief just to have a check on our box for loving others. Now that is something we have to be careful. The danger of loving others is compromising. If they do not accept our love, then let us not push it. As believers, we don’t need to put a little bit of worldliness in our church just to be accepted by others. While Ted Kluck was having his conversation with his friend about emerging church his friend answer “loving people and ministering to the person should always be a priority but I don’t think we need to change church to fit the culture.” It’s not our job to save them but it’s our job to love them and to tell them what the truth is. When man works man works when man prays God works.

LOVE FOR GOD
If we love Him we will obey His commandments. Our love for Him does not end by accepting Him to our heart. Our relationship with Him should be growing. When do we plan to take Him seriously? Is it going to be in the middle of our walk with Him? Many baby Christians fall on this wrong expectation. Why do we even accept Him if we are not ready to commit? What good relationship has only one person giving and laying their heart out for the other person, without them doing the same in return? There is no love that does not require commitment. Not only we are fooling ourselves but we are trying to fool God.
In order to follow Him we need to let go of the things we posses. We will not reach the next level we expect to be in if we still hold on to other things that is really hindering God’s wonderful plan for us. We love God because He loved us first. We all have to go back here because most of the time we fall on being ego centric and God becomes our last priority. Above all else our relationship with Him is the most important thing we should think of.  Our relationship with Him should be right first before we can do ministry, fellowship, evangelism or anything.
Why do we obey Him? Not just because of the rewards we will receive, not just to have gold stars in our sheet but because we love Him. We love others because we love Him. We do everything because we want to please Him.

GOD’S LOVE
It is the greatest love we could ever have. I like how John always reminds us How God loves us. He sent His Son on earth just to save us. How He longs for our communication from the beginning. We love Him because He first loved us. We have the first two love because we have God’s love. He is the foundation of our love.
It’s one of the uniqueness of Christianity among any other religion –God’s love. Our God is selfless; Our God came to earth and become a humble servant to those who do not deserve any of it. He came to heal the sick. His love can be received by everybody.
What separate us from other religion is that our God is so holy and yet He loved the unholy ones. He sent His Son to fulfill the law and to be the greatest example for us to follow. He have given so much for us not to stumble, that’s How he loved us. But we still fail, we still hurt Him. We choose the other way instead of His way. It’s not that because He’s not so powerful. But because he loved us so much that He gave us the free will to choose. Because He knew that forced love is not love at all.

----------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
Most of the time love is being misused in a Christian life. Love is important in a fellowship but once we love the wrong thing we dig our own hole to fall. We don’t use love for our own excuses to sin. God teaches us how love should be that way we have no excuse.
We fall on taking advantage of God’s love because of our selfishness. We should be watchful with our feelings and our emotions because the devil will try to steal us in any way and even uses our feelings, especially our feelings!
In order for us to be confident in facing Him when He comes, we have to live in this world according to His will. We will only have fear if we do things here in this world that is way out of His plan. Everything that we do here on earth will be examined, if we serve Him for Him or for our own sake. It’s surprising to know that a lot of Christians are afraid to die even if they know that they’re going to heaven. And it’s because they live a selfish life, what is their difference from the world? By that they miss the whole point of God’s love.

Fruits of the Spirit

Last night I sat down in our table and start doodling and one of them end up looking like this. Me and Hanna have the heart to design witness shirts and I hope this could be the start, hopefully. I was inspired by the passage Galatians 5:22-23
But the fruit of the Spirit is love, joy, peace, longsuffering, kindness, goodness, faithfulness, gentleness, self-control. Against such there is no law.
